A reporting layer that connects manufacturing activity with the questions finance and operations need answered.

The problem

An operational system holds transactions. Answering questions about margin, orders, jobs, and delivery takes a reporting model that connects those records.

My role

I built the Power BI reporting environment on Kinetic, from BAQ-based extraction to data modeling, DAX measures, and Power BI Service workspace governance.

The approach

The work spans job, labor, order, invoice, part, and customer data. A shared semantic model and calendar table support measures across the reporting environment. Plant displays and an automatic refresh workflow bring the information into daily operations.

The questions it supports

The reporting work covers gross margin, active and stagnant jobs, on-time delivery, and order backlog. Its audience reaches across finance, operations, and sales.

Why it matters

The technical work and the accounting definitions belong together. A useful dashboard depends on understanding what the measure means, where its data comes from, and who will act on it.
