From JobBoss2 to Kinetic.
Owned end to end.

An operating-system change that finished where accounting needs it to: the general ledger.

The problem

Replacing a manufacturing system means connecting sales, purchasing, inventory, and finance. The work extends beyond choosing software: the records and workflows have to support the people using them.

My role

I owned the Kinetic Migration at BW Manufacturing. Pre-work began in summer 2024, and the migration proceeded in Waves over roughly eighteen months for about thirty users. Consultants were present for the first week of the First Wave; I ran the work after that.

The approach

The First Wave in November 2024 brought AR invoicing, sales orders, inventory management, and purchasing onto Kinetic. Later Waves added modules, with finance and the general ledger moving last. I learned Kinetic with Claude as a study partner while working through its data model and BAQs.

Where it landed

The migration is complete, the general ledger runs in Kinetic, and JobBoss2 has been switched off. My ongoing work includes administering Kinetic and owning the monthly and subledger close.

Accounting ownership, system implementation, and the ability to keep learning while responsible for the outcome.
